I agree. But from the orignal piece by Kristol, wouldn't McCain be better off - for a lot of reasons - to knock off the negative crap? Here is what Kristol says;

What McCain needs to do is junk the whole thing and start over.

Don't worry about his staff - too late for that. But stop the hateful turd-throwing stuff that is going to hurt republicans across the board.

Another good speech by Obama on the economy today. His juices are flowing too - but in a different way.

Unsteady, yes; reactionary, no. But he's already lost the argument about steadiness, so that's no loss.

He could, not certain he will, pull his campaign back to the McCain "you all love" and hope for the best. Who knows. But I think that's what both Kristol and Rollins are arguing.
