Bill Kristol, is one of the worst thinkers I know of. He reminds me of Bill Bennet, Brad Blakeman, Hannity and Limbaugh.

What a fascinating and unconvincing argument. As far as I can see, it amounts to him saying
"Vote for McCain because the Democrats are going to win in the Senate and Congress, and you don't want them to win all three or else... they'd win all three?"

We've seen what across-the-board Republican rule looks like. And it squanders the best financial, diplomatic and economic position the US will probably ever see, and turns all three positions on their heads to become among the worst ever, in favour of tax cuts for very rich people at Enron, WorldCom and a half-dozen failed merchant banks plus a battering of the Constitution on personal liberty.
Plus the most pointless and expensive foreign war in US history, and uniquely it can't even be won any more.

It's hard to beat that as a failing electoral platform...
