Doesn't matter to me whether the power is concentrated in the hands of a few, or in the hands of tens of thousands of elected representatives from the President all the way down to the mayor of Wasilia, Alaska.

The key is that power is centralized in a single, hierarchical bureaucracy. And for what? To prevent this sort of financial crisis from happening in the future? Many people on this very thread, not to mention analysts featured on CNBC, are predicting the "fall of capitalism." What does that mean, except a state takeover of almost every pillar of this economy, from banks to auto to oil and beyond?
