Wallace wasn't subtle about it. And, at least at the time, I think he was very sincere.

Unlike McCain.

Wallace mellowed out in his later years. Sort of the same as the South in general.

Considering Wallace was a democrat, I'd say the Obama race baiting campaign is in good company.

"They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"
