I think the church would go a long way to solving their problems if they would allow priests to marry, and for that matter female priests. As for confession, many Catholics find a lot of comfort in it. I have no particular problem with the idea, though I certainly don't believe it. Christianity is a very comforting religion for the true believer. Infallibility strikes me as a nutty idea, but I don't think it hurts anyone. Sort of like fish on Friday, no pork, etc. Reminds me of a joke. Little boy goes to Sunday School and comes home and mom asks him what he learned.
