That is what I get for believing google maps. This will get you to 652. A long and desolate stretch of road if ever there was one. It is only 150 km to terminus at Detour Lake Mine. That is an hour and a half north of the highway from Cockroach. If you hurry. maps.google.com Hwy 652 is a very long, remote bush highway connecting Cochrane with the road to Detour Lake Mine. The highway is 153 Km long, and it passes through no communities other than the town of Cochrane at the western end of the highway. There are no services or gasoline on this highway. Gasoline is only available in Cochrane on Hwy 11. The speed limit on Hwy 652 is posted at 80 Km/h. There are several Bailey Bridges on Hwy 652 north of the Northwest Industrial Road turn-off. The southernmost 125 Km of Hwy 652 is paved. The rest of the highway is a mixture of paved and gravel sections. Pavement conditions along Hwy 652 are generally Good with many uneven and rough spots. The scenery along Hwy 652 is typical of a Northeastern Ontario highway, exhibiting typical northern forest scenery punctuated by occasional rivers, and clear lakes. Traffic volumes are extremely light along all portions of Hwy 652. As with most highways in Northern Ontario, moose standing in the roadway pose a major hazard for motorists.
