This is a speculative question. Sun has been a dominant player
in certain markets. In the small "Sparc and Clones" market, Sun
did decide to pull the rug from clone-makers once by prohibiting
Sun reseller channels (in which Sun invests money) from selling
clones ("you do not see Toyotas selling in Ford showrooms") and
asked clone makers to develop their own channels. Competitive
or monopoly play...I don't know.

Saying other than that is pure speculation. Javaman can be sharp
with words but I would not want to speculate what he would do or
not do if he had a monopoly.

He was once asked if he would support the Larry Ellison (Oracle CEO)
quoted "wish" to go on a fighter plane and strafe Redmond. His
response was "I will support it but I might definitely want to watch
the video if it happens"

Last night on Nightline was on "Microsoft vs Justice Dept" he said
"We are not after Microsoft. We are going after customers. <smile>
If Microsoft gets gets run over on the way there...."

His quotes have cplorful acid humor vs polite Bill gates so he
does has people who do not like him, but I have no idea how he would
manage a monopoly situation.

Someone once said once a business attains a monopoly, you should
congratulate them on success and break them apart so the game can
begin again competetively.
