Most of it was sold to the European CB's And did you know that ANYONE can edit articles at Wikipedia? Its not the best source for information. To prove it, look about 3 paragraphs down from your link where it says "Obsolete man says its not so" You might want to ask yourself if you think we have so much gold reserves then why do the various mints around the country find themselves in a shortage of gold to produce new coins? Try calling a few gold dealers to see what they have in stock
