Thanks. I was thinking about alternative reasons and that one sounds plausible.

I've been hanging in with this trend for five years and agree that patience is required. A surprising number of people from my 3D world have been asking where to buy gold. Their problem is that they have missed the <early> part. When they ask me if they should buy, I tell them the authorities dislike the rise in gold and that should be considered.

As for shoring up the Euro, do you, or anyone on the thread, have insight into where the EU and the US would really like their currency to trade? Does the US want a <strong dollar> just during the financial crisis and then a return to a weak dollar to boost exports and inflate away debt? The true policy is not clear to me.
