The point I was trying to make, but not as articulately. Good summary. "so asking for a picture id is a way of reducing certain type of potential voter access. for us able bodied, driving folk this is difficult to appreciate sometimes." And a lot of the laws are so transparent in their intentions. When it is more complicated to get a photo ID than a driver's license...

I'm in favor of a required, national DL/ID/voter reg./SS/Med. Info card. Why not? Since we own banks now, they could also be debit/credit cards!

I am unclear why its bad to ask for ID when voting. Not all people are eligible to vote.
