***Eduardo Galeano****, born in Montevideo, ***Uruguay***, in 1940 is an essayist, journalist, historian, and activist. Galeano's books include the trilogy Memory of Fire; The Book of Embraces; We Say No; and Walking Words. Galeano, who received the first Lannan Prize for Cultural Freedom, has said, "I'm trying to create a synthesis of all different ways of expressing life and reality…I tried to find a way of recounting history so that the reader would feel that it was happening right now, just around the corner—this immediacy, this intensity, which is the beauty and the reality of history." Galeano's Mirrors: An Almost Universal History (Espejos: una historia casi universal) will be published in English by Nation Books in the spring of 2009.

Hungaria still has the best windoze-virus-writers, even better at writing Linux-open-src-software.
Additionally some very good Nokia factories, within shouting distance of their R*D departments.

Ouch, the way they have fun with their software..

after they were where that reliable, more reliable than a Kalashinikov, software for the extremely succesfull fully Soyuz program, not the regular shit of the shuttle-hubble-stuff.

The centrifuge at Star City is large enough for people to ride in and subjects them to high G-forces such as those experienced during spacecraft launches and re-entries.
STAR CITY, Russia — Garrett Reisman was on his way to this formerly secret military base for several weeks of training, making his way through Kennedy Airport, when his cellphone rang. It was his boss, Steven W. Lindsey, the head of NASA’s astronaut office.
David Corcoran, a science editor, explores some of the topics addressed in this week’s Science Times.

Cosmonaut Yuri Lonchakov and astronaut Mike Fincke took part in a simulation exercise at a training center in Star City.
