Spansion already talked about selling their packaging operations to a third party in the past, the announcement of today is just a confirmation that such a deal is as good as finished.

For now the way I read it is that Spansion wants to release at least ONE good message this day. ;)

That's one day to look at it. Another way to look at it, looking at the statements and press releases, Spansion has been signaling this for some time, with nothing concrete. So they finally released something concrete...
