The fundamental problem with your thinking is that you reject homosexuality and see it as "curable" like obesity...

Its not teaching kids that obesity is okay but rather that we should tolerant of people's differences.

There are always going to be bullies, there is always going to be ignorance, there is always going to be school cliques and tribalism. We should deal with those problems, but not by glorifying what shouldn't be glorified or what may be controversial.

There will always be bullies and ignorance if we tolerate such behavior. Where it is not tolerated, the behavior goes away.

And ten, there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. If it disgusts you, then God disgusts you because its all part of what he created.
