Brazil financial backwardness helped escape the turmoil. Countries with more sophisticated financial infrastructures used all the mathemagics to make money.

A backward place, such as Brazil, with economists who had studied in the university during 'Lost Decade', versed in control, profit and avoid hyper-inflation, could not engage fully in the finance sector as the developed countries.

Companies who had hired top class CFO's used the fiancial carroussel and now suffer (Votorantin, Sadia, Aracruz...)
