Whether or not that specific example is one of guilt by association, it doesn't justify the attacks on Obama.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not accusing the Reagan campaign of bad associations. I'm accusing them of deliberately sending a message to white folk in the south that Reagan was on their side. And all of us, everyone one of us, knew the history of Philadelphia, Mississippi, the site of the killing of three civil rights workers in 1964.
