How are COS costs relative to 2005? There have been lots of stories about skyrocketing costs in Canada. Also, is it possible the market is discounting $60 or even $50 oil, in which case a return to 2005 levels for COS is not unreasonable?

IMHO either a major dump by a hedge fund, or perhaps somebody got the inside word that distributions will be cut.

one doesn't need inside info to know the dividend will be cut. one can figure that out easily enough looking at COS' guidance document on their website, as i mentioned in a recent post.

you may be right about a major dump. it's hard to say. my personal theory is that moves in COS tend to be more pronounced because it lacks the liquidity of a dual-listed SU or CNQ. and i believe COS will not become dual-listed under its current structure due to its mandate to maintain high Canadian ownership.
