Yes. I get the sentiment, but I don't think that played well with the plumber. What Obama really meant was that his tax cuts will go to the middle class and poor, the 95% of Americans, rather than the top 5%. That's what he meant, but it sure makes good spin for the Republicans to hammer him on the plumber encounter.

Obama tonight stated he would prefer if there were no income taxes for anyone, himself included. This sounds good to the average joe, IMHO, if democrats have to hate the comment. Obama has carefully tried to establish himself as quite receptive to Republican notions, or rather, quite middle of the road in general. But Democrats know he lied, or rather, that he was kidding, as he knows the real world demands income taxes. When Barack said he likes the idea of spreading Joe the Plumbers wealth around, his effort not be be painted a raving liberal came unraveled. His silver tongue failed here. This single statement of Obama's could be McCain's best ammunition in this election, barring more statements from Obama which reveal this plainly who he really is.
