I haven't been to France in ten years so I have to defer to you. A friend just got back from the South of France. I'll have to ask him about it when we get together.

Bottom line many muslims are living in a 13th century culture. They said that some amazing number of peopel in Afghanistan 10/15/20%?, did not know the world is round.

I can understand the French's attitude as I had no problem with us taking out the Taliban for what they were doing to little gils and women. They were torturing them.

It was an easy existential decision for me.

You are right, Democrats should not be treating Muslims (and other faiths as well) as a civil rights issue and should not support them blindly if they end up committing stupidity. While I am never aligned with the right (including this issue as well), I do however believe that immigrants have a duty to reach out to mainstream populace to bridge the gaps where ever possible. For the most part I am in tune with Democrats but there needs to be some sense in immigration policy.
