Just got off the phone with Chuck Keszler CFO of LSS. He says that LSS makes casing tubing and line pipe not drill pipe, Said that what is possible is what happens every year at this time - that some distributors may work off some of their inventory in 4Q to avoid property taxes and that may delay some orders, however demand remains strong overall.

Doesn't sound all that ominous to me.

Bill.

Shane:

There is a shortage of pipe -- unfortunately apparently that is the source of the problem. Delivery lead times are long and the drillers are impatient. They want the market open to Chinese (and I think Russian) suppliers via reduced tariffs. Clearly, LSS, MAVK, NSS would be hurt if this were to occur and that is the source of uncertainty in the market (IMHO anyway).

I am long in LSS -- got in after it tumbled about 10, thought I made a stellar play. Down two since -- go figure!!
