US$ 2.3 billion is an enormous sum for six quarters of royalties -- Apr 07 thru Sep 08. That total must also include some recovery of legal expenses and a "lump-sum" licensing fee.

If I understand Q and Nokia correctly, none of it is for "back royalties"...it is all a lump sum licensing fee that is being amortized from April 2007 to the end of 2022.
