Agreed, unless you share McCain's anger at all things Obama, Mac isn't connecting with the independents with his current line. That is very clear from all the polls now.

If he can't find some way to reverse the slide, a landslide looms.

One of the interesting TV moments last night that we saw was Bill Bennett on CNN. Anderson Cooper or Blitzer, forget just which, turned to him first right after the end of the debate. Bennett goes off like a multi pronged rocket, praising McCain in every way possible for his performance. That framed the subsequent conversation in the panel--McCain was on the offensive (good) and Obama was on the defensive (bad)--until the results of the polling showed up. Then it all shifted to what Obama did to win. Hmmmm.
