I think that there are many of us who are sorely disappointed in Pelosi and Reid.

Hillary's comments after the debate are something you might share with her.

She said quite realistically that it's going to take a long while to implement any programs that Obama would like to see. He is going to make changes, however. He is vibrant, intelligent and will surround himself with the brightest and best as Kennedy did.

She was quite good and I liked what she had to say..

Further that

He is willing to concede, change his mind and if he thinks that someone is ineffective he will change the scene . AMEN

Now I don't know what it takes to have Pelosi step down or Ried either but it took a long while for Bush to remove
ineffectual persons even though they had been his choices..

I think obama would act more quickly and decisively...

Maybe this will encourage her. I don't think a thing that Obama says is written in cement but he has good intentions.

On the other hand McCain will balance the budget in four years. I think this is a wild statement to make. It's like saying I will have the stock market rise again... if you want me to.

I might be persuaded to vote for him if I really trusted he could do it. SMILE.

Your mominlaw sounds like someone I heard on NPR this morning. She said she would love to be able to vote for McCain but just can't--he totally turns her off. But she can't vote for Obama. She didn't say why.
