>38% of the vote

Hardly inspiring. I didn't expect Harper to lose the election. It is reassuring he got a minority. It's like being the President and having the opposition control both houses. The Liberals had a weak leader and he'll be replaced soon enough. And then there'll be another election within a year and Harper will be booted out on his rear end.

why do you think it is funny that a candadian conservative wins? Sarkozy also won france, for good reason.

But that has nothing to do with this current republican administration that has spent us out of house and home by doubling the national debt, crashing the dollar, allowing hyperleverage destroy our banking system (once revered in the world- no more) and started worthless expensive wars.

Whatever Bush is, he is not a traditional fiscal conservative and as David Brooks says, everyone that used to be on that side of the republican party is now a democrat, with ignorants like Sarah Palin calling these same people "extreme liberals".

Call a spade a spade. Dumbya is a BIG SPENDER ON PORK, in the Tip O'Neill tradition. So is Palin, but shes so stupid its not worth discussing.
