the cost of the Iraq war and what it's costing us, ten billion a month.. I know that's chump change in today's terms,

No it isn't. Its huge money and the 10 billion per month does not include the additional billions (probably around 30 billion) that get added to our entitlement costs every year to deal with disabled vets. Iraq is immensely expensive and gives us nothing in return.

The bailouts make the iraq numbers seem smallish, but the bailouts are intended to allow the taxpayer to get his money back like with Chrysler or the RTC from the S&L scandal years ago. Iraq is just down the tubes with nowhere else to go.

This bad management on the part of the Bush admin has destroyed our stock market, something people were counting on to retire with. It is simply amazing the amt of destruction this administration has caused to the USA.

The good news is we have 2 very large issues on the horizon where an all dem congress and president will help immensely, and without the major screwup which is Bush we would have had a divided house and those are hard to push legislation through.
- mandated clean fuels including cars (electric or hybrid), move off fossil fuels
- healthcare reform, single payer or some other govt program

With his front runner status, Obama could afford to goad McCain in bringing up the Ayers issue. Notice that it was Obama who uttered the word Ayers and ACORN. McCain didn't.

I was happy to see that Obama was Presidential in setting his record straight by explaining his side on the issue instead of retaliating by raising the Keating 5 scandal instead.
