That sounds good.

In Alaska, we had to sign in at our precinct on a big printout that had everybody's name on it. If your name was not on the list you could still vote but your vote was shunted to a list of challenged votes. They compared it to the registers for other precincts.

You marked your vote on a paper ballot which was scanned by an optical reader. Thus, there was an immediate count and a permanent physical record of the votes cast.

I liked the system in Alaska. I don't believe I ever heard a word about any problems with it.
