There's been a MASSIVE amount of new natural gas drilling in the USA! Haven't you heard of shale gas and coal bed methane? Companies are now cutting back on drilling to avoid a looming surplus of natural gas.

That's from existing wells, I live in CO. There has been some new drilling but it's still being fought, so it hasn't totally opened up.
