Well, "he" -- either he-- wasn't there. It wasn't really at a Rally itself, but in the line. It's like the Dem guy hitting the woman with her own sign the other day. Or the horrible things printed by Dems that Michelle Malkin listed in a column. Those things are just as hateful written as spoken. And could also provoke crazies to action.

I wrote when it first started that Palin was going too far, and that McCain should have responded the first time he heard something negative (which he didn't, though he seems to think he did). I understand you are saying that in this way they granted "permission" to say these things. But I really don't think there is a huge distinction between the emotions on either side away from the candidates, particularly in groups. For every incident, one party pulls out, I bet the other can equal it. People don't usually need permission, but they can be encouraged, and I thought Palin was bordering on that.

We may tend to hear differently being for Obama. Some things that offend McC supporters may just sound truthful to us.
