McCain is leading here by about eight to ten points....a narrower margin than a few months back and a much smaller margin than the surrounding states of OK, KS and TX. As far as I know, Obama hasn't campaigned or run ads here. We have a significant black population in the southern half of the state but it's geographically dispersed in hundreds of small towns making it difficult to organize, I guess.

Apparently, Arkansas was written off from the beginning. Hillary would have made it competitive, but not with total certainty is my guess. At least in the beginning. Now with the economic turns of events, I think Hillary would have delivered both MO and AR and maybe even FL. Without her, Obama seems poised to get both MO and FL narrowly, but not AR.

Having said this, though, I've moved way past my disappointment that he didn't put her on the ticket. I think Biden will bring plenty to an Obama administration and serve his VEEP office quite well.
