Dobbs is one of those advocacy journalists who combines the sins of being rigid and dogmatic with arrogance and being snide. I can barely tolerate him when he pops up on one of Blitzer's panels. Being forced to watch the Dobbs hour every night would be a new level of hell.

I saw that! I seldom watch Dobbs. He got too Johnny One Note for me on immigration. But I did think he was fairly dignified. Was thus amazed at how overwrought he seemed last night talking about the "attacks"! And the I went to Fox where they were doing the WEathermen story.

But that is what I mean by the difficulty of interpreting things objectively. I am not sure it can be done. Or if so, only imperfectly.

If he can't prevent himself from being apoplectic, I'm not interested in watching him.

That's why I watch him rarely--when there's some topic of interest that I know he will cover in greater depth than other shows. He can be quite good at depth.

The reason I replied to your post was to point out that he has his own views and doesn't adhere strictly to any party line. (At least in that way he's refreshing.) That point may have gotten lost.

He got stuck on the immigration issue for the longest time. Not interesting to hear the same thing show after show. Wouldn't be even if his tone was more modulated.
