Having the federal government's insurance program available to everyone will be a good start in getting rid of the adversarial relationship between people and the health care system. Since it covers regardless of pre-existing condition (which all insurance should or what is it for?), it will get us closer to having a high tech medical records system. Without the assurance of having pre-existing conditions covered, no one will trust to have all of their information made available to insurers.

Considering that Healthnet (and others) cancel insurance policies AFTER their clients get sick, this assurance is a big deal for health care costs. That dang paperwork and arguing with insurance bureaucrats costs up to 1/3rd of the time (and money) spent on physicians.

Getting rid of that onerous Republican bill, Medicare part D, with that bizarre doughnut hole and the anti-capitalistic requirement to NOT negotiate drug prices will also be a good place to start. Americans have to stop subsidizing drug prices for the rest of the world....why do we do this anyway? This will provide huge savings.

The right wing health care system is incredibly expensive because it cements, by law, the profits of large corporations. These government-mandated 'profits' (corruption) are running the health care system into the same ground that the financial system is currently in....can we afford yet another one of these bubble/collapses?
