"applying for a job" Yep. I suspect Obama assured him of something before he made the endorsement. The following was excerpted from astuteblogger: He said some very strange things after his endorsement - strange for anyone WHO WOULD THEN endorse Obama: Powell said he stands by his decision to invade Iraq, that the war was initially fought incredibly well - in the phase that toppled Saddam, but that then "went south" UNTIL THE SURGE. But that Iraqis are finally better off now. OBAMA DISAGREES WITH ALL OF THESE POINTS: OBAMA STILL SAYS THE WAR WAS WRONG AND BAD AND UNNECESSARY, AND THAT THE SURGE WAS BAD AND UNNECESSARY. OBAMA MAKES THIS THE CORNERSTONE OF HIS CANDIDACY - THE "PROOF" THAT HE HAS THE JUDGMENT TO LEAD - TO BE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
