The story you told is what's great about America. It makes you proud, right? Built character? So why do you want to remove the opportunity for independent success and self reliance for the next guy by supporting change to a socialist state?

Then your mind is still chained to a victim mentality. As long as you support Obama, you are advocating to limit Americans' personal freedom. Try to think outside the angry left box. Which is more important to you? Your personal freedom or shoddy government run healthcare?
