Jeff, I agree. Another point : The CFO who said that the price was high last qtr bought 2.1 mil shares recently and they are buying more. MSFT in OCT may do what INTC did in july - move up 10-20 points.

Jeff, Good observation, isn't it unusual for MSFT to anounce a STRONG quarter, when all the time they warn analysts not to expect a blowout quarter. I think with the sub $1000 PC segment taking off, MSFT stand's to gain the most. Estimates have already been upped to $3.20 from $3.17 by Lehman Bros. The only thing keeping the lid on MSFT is Janet Reno. It will probably stay "depressed" till the Oct 27 hearing. It may even drop 5-8 points, then take off, after Bill Gates and Steve Balmer play their trump cards.

Funny thing, when you talk of monopoly in the browser market, what comes to my mind is NSCP with 70% market share according to their estimates.
