Westell/BC: The Bell Canada site has been updated. This next phase has 2.2Mbps modems.

Bell ADSL, or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, access service allows data, such as Internet traffic to be sent over existing copper telephone lines at speeds of up to 2.2 Mbps (megabits per second) 50 times faster than a standard (28.8 kilobits per second) dial-up modem.

These speeds will quickly evolve to much higher levels to meet customers' increasingly sophisticated needs. At 4 Mbps, 200 pages of text can be downloaded in less than one second, and a typical World Wide Web page with graphics and text can be downloaded in less than one-tenth of a second. Over the next few years, these speeds will reach 52 Mbps -- almost 4,000 times faster than the standard modem.

I would suggest reading several of the links to see how much has changed. Bell Canada consistantly states 2.2Mbps service.... until later.
