Archimedes--thanks for having the intellectual energy to challenge these unfounded pronouncements. I gave up on trying to convince those who cavalierly dismiss an established technology but your post may reinvigorate me-- Frank

"All Obama has proposed is to continue this research and increase funding with the goal of building it at a commercial scale."

The CO2 issue is an energy issue. I maintain there is no commercial CO2 capture and sequestration technology. Now to avoid being caught on technicalities:

1. I have stated that CO2 capture is standard technology in the energy industry. Application of this technology to a utility has not been done commercially.

2. Proposing research is not the whole policy. Cancellation of coal based plants is what is happening.

Coal and dirty oil are now targets. I must admit this is great for my natural gas stocks. Also, I saw somewhere (that I cannot find) that some European countries are backing off of CO2 reduction policies as too expensive.
