I've heard some talk about W. being somewhat sympathetic to the president, hard to imagine. I have no plans of ever seeing it, so hearsay is all I will have to go on.

Heard some of Glenn Beck tonight on "W", and was on a total rant against a Leftwing film maker who had to go to China to find funding to make a film that took to task the American Government....He was very angry!!

With enemies like Stone, who needs Al Qaeda or the Taliban and all the others....

The greatest leftist movie maker in the country and his anti-Bush movie is beat by a chihuahua movie and a bee movie.

Too funny!

Something that Oliver Stone didn’t think of is that people who don’t like Bush, don’t want to go see a movie about Bush even if it is unflattering and people who do like Bush don’t want to go see a movie about Bush that is unflattering because it is unflattering. What this all means is that Oliver Stone has a big flop on his hands.

Oliver Stone's Movie 'W' Bombs At Box Office Opening Weekend

mhutch.blogspot.com

The past week to ten days there has been a bunch of hype coming out of Hollywood about the new movie loosely based on the life of George W. Bush called 'W'. In it's opening weekend at the US box office this movie, directed by Oliver Stone, ranked 4th in overall receipts. While there was considerable competition from other movies over the weekend like, 'Max Payne', I'm sure Stone and others involved in the making of this movie were very disappointed in the small $10 million 'W' earned during opening weekend.

Like so many other movies that have been made over the past few years that are critical of either President Bush or his policies, 'W' turned out to be a movie that no one really liked. For President Bush haters, 'W' turned George W. Bush into a sympathetic character and for Bush supporters they would never spend money to see any movie made about President Bush directed by Oliver Stone.

In a way it proved to be a mistake for Oliver Stone to rush this movie to completion while President Bush was still in office. In reality, 'W' might have made more money if Stone would have waited until President Bush left office in January to have released this movie. Throughout Oliver Stone's career as a top Hollywood director, he has had his share of big wins and big flops. Right now it is beginning to look like his movie 'W' will fall into the flop category.
