I saw Mt Saint Hellens erupt driving on the freeway in Seattle. Later went and saw the ash. You are right. War, that is all MCCain talks about and all he knows. We humans neeed to learn to be samrt and live together in peace (as corny as that sounds) or we all die. It is as simple as that. We talked a lot about this stuff in the 60's. We saw the population bomb, pollution, war and bigotry. And then everyone got caught up in keeping up with the Jones, another road we resisted. "Man in a grey flannel suit and Organization man were two books we took caution from. We seriously studied the zen of life. I like the Buddhist's idea that every good deed you do brings you a step closer to enlightenment. And I say that as an existentialist. We are in for new leaner times which were unavoidable and we need a big middle class because that is all this planet can suppport. Try and explain that one ot a right winger-lol.
