I expect to see Boehner lose the minority leader position in the next congress. I see Blunt as the probable successor. Given his role in the bailout negotiations, he seems to have the confidence of a larger portion of the caucus. As for the senate, I would be as surprised to see McConnell lose as I was to see Daschle. It can, of course, happen, but the odds are clearly against it. I forget who is the whip on the Rep side in the Senate. If McConnell were to lose, I assume he would become the minority leader.
