David, health care is screwed one way or the other. It's not like we really have a free market in health care anyway, and I don't think the whole "direct-to-consumer" marketing for prescription meds is what I had in mind.

Other than that, I agree with everything you said. The only thing universal health care will accomplish is the drastic reduction in the number of uninsured Americans. Everything else, including all of the current problems with health care, will just be nationalized and thus preserved by government bureaucracy.
