Many of them are privately owned or are now museums..or used for private parties, weddings, conventions, etc. monmouthplantation.com They are so beautiful, it is amazing how they lived.. We went to a lovely get together when we lived in LA that was sponsored by Air Products, I think, I'm not quite sure about that..it was a tour and then a beautiful dinner set with elegant silverware and antique dishes. We were all given a book given and signed by David Gleason at the dinner. amazon.com He also did a book, over Boston and over New Orleans, but while he was doing a book Over Atlanta, he died in a helicopter crash..very sad.
