I think a good little skit could have been with Palin reading the news story about Madonna announcing Palin wasn't welcome at her concerts. And then respond by snapping her fingers and going "Boo Hoo" with a smile. Add in "You know, I actually like one of her songs when I was in high school." Edgier would have been to put in a reference to Sandra Bernhard, like "And Sandra Bernhard, I'm here now and turns out New Yorkers are nicer than you said."
