I hope Q, which is always so conservative, has their money in very safe vehicles like government bonds rather than risky stocks. I believe they use by Goldman Sachs. Hopefully they did NOT own Fannie, Freddy, Bear Stearns and Lehman. Time will tell

RR, I agree completely about QCOM doing speculative investing on my behalf. My point was that since they WERE doing the investing of cash on my behalf, I'd have preferred them to do the right thing, which was short housing/credit default swaps etc rather than buying into it, which they seem to have done.

I far prefer them to make ASICs and stuff and send me the profits. People with too much money get very careless with it. I far prefer to be careless with my own money if I choose to, than have somebody fritter it away for me.
