Thanks Bob. GM is 5 years behind the hybrid trend, i.e. Toyota and Honda. I believe the next revolution is alternative energy.

Big-car and truck hybrids have so far been commercial failures.

If one cares enough to want a hybrid, one wants one that gets 40+ miles per gallon. That's impossible with a huge hunk of metal to drag around.

Otherwise, if you only want 30+ mpg, it's much cheaper to do that by just buying a smaller conventional car.

(Happily driving a 1996 Civic HX, 35mpg in mixed driving without trying very hard).
