A lot of AK isn't privately owned due to its history and sparse population. Big deal - that doesn't constitute socialism.

All states have some state owned resources - CA does, TX, all of them. Every coastal state has state waters offshore - the first 3 miles offshore CA is state for example and has plenty of oil resources. For TX and FL, its 3 leagues for state ownership. Doesn't make any of those socialist states.
