I think if we want Osama gone, that is the only policy to support. Invading countries to go after a small terrorist group is ridiculous. What Obama said makes sense. What Bush did was absolutely moronic.

I go back and forth as to whether invading Afghanistan was the best thing to do as opposed to simply doing some sort of limited action to get bin Laden. However, I still come down on Bush's policy on this one. I don't see how it would have been possible to get bin Laden in Afghanistan without taking on the Taliban, which meant invading.

Iraq is, of course, one of the great mistakes in military history. For more reasons than either of us can count.
