Saddam Hussein could have avoided the invasion by simply complying with the requests Bush made of him. He did not do that, so he, not Bush, is responsible for the invasion.

Actually, Hussein was in a classic bind. If his foes in the ME learned he actually had no WMDs, it would have weakened his regional position enormously. So he had little incentive to do so. The US, however, had enormous leverage, through the UN, to have forced him to permit serious, thorough inspections. The US failed to take all the necessary steps on that one.

Too eager to invade.

Imo "What would Obama do" is not a question capable of being answered, given that it is highly unlikely that Obama himself knows what would Obama do.

It is also highly unlikely that McCain knows what McCain would do.

And George W. Bush sure as hell didn't know what Bush would do cause he just sat there like an idiot holding a copy of "My Pet Goat." I guess the answer to the question with respect to Bush is "keep reading My Pet Goat."

If a space alien landed on your front lawn what would you do? The only sensible answer is "it depends." There are too many variables to give a definite answer to the question. Therefore the question is pointless.

I don't buy that.
Suppose you hold someone up at gunpoint and say "Give me all your money or I will shoot you."
They don't hand over their money, and instead tell you that they have none, so you shoot them.
(You may or may not say "See what you made me do", BTW.)

I think you are responsible for the shooting, not them. You are the one with the gun.
Whether or not they actually *do* have any money is a different matter, but either way they are not the one responsible for the shooting.
