NKTR was among the few closing on the green today.<g>

It was helped by the announcement yesterday that Novartis has agreed to acquire some pulmonary delivery assets, technology, & intellectual property for $115M in cash.

They said that the agreement will allow them to focus on the development of therapeutics using their PEGylation & conjugate chemistry-based drug development.Adding that "It is a perfect example of our ability to monetize assets that had little future value for Nektar."

The agreement also transfers to Novartis approximately 140 NKTR personnel

NKTR will retain ownership of its Bayer HealthCare-partnered program NKTR-061,which is scheduled to enter PIII by year-end, & royalties to Ciprofloxacin inhaled powder, also partnered with Bayer HealthCare. Likewise, NKTR will retain NKTR-063, scheduled to enter a PII in the U.S. early next year.

VASC opened with an UG & was able to continue with yesterday's up-move, closing up 14.73% on volume of 259,784 which was about 4x its ADV, & it is still doing OK AHs.<g>
