A lot of people have dummy fatigue, wanting a president who they believe is smarter than they are. It could be as simple as that.

People want to believe. Obama will wash away the sin of racism some people think. They want to believe so badly they're ignoring the evidence that Obama is a leftwing socialist that is essentially hostile to America - just like Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers, only more circumspect. He hasn't spent his entire life hanging with these types for nothing.
