This particular division of GE employed numerous computer programmers, who worked in a humungous noisy room that felt like an immense refrigerator when you walked in. The programmers walked around all day holding boxes of keypunch cards as well. They were working on missile projects launched at Cape Canaveral(now Cape Kennedy). 50% of the missiles at that time scuttled in the launch pad. It was easy to tell from the hangdog expressions when a launch had failed--Dept called Digital Data Processing and Analysis. Really is a small world.<g>
