''The positive results for both the first and second quarters of our fiscal year 1998 indicate that the actions we took in the fourth quarter of last fiscal year continue to improve the bottom line,'' said Delbert Yocam, Borland chairman and CEO, in a statement. Yocam said he was particularly pleased with response to its JBuilder products that were shipped in the quarter and ongoing improvement in client/server, enterprise and Internet products. JBuilder Standard and JBuilder Professional are software tools to enable software developers to write applications and applets that run in Sun Microsystems Inc's (SUNW) Java programming language, which is used in developing software applications to run on the Internet and on corporate networks. Borland said the next member of this product line, JBuilder Client/Server Suite, is due sometime this quarter. Borland said that its second quarter was also highlighted by several major industry partnerships, such as alliances with Netscape Communications Corp (NSCP), SAP AG (SAPG.F) and International Business Machines Corp (IBM).
